Registration close (01/09/2010)
It's time to close the registration for the NDC 2010. We are pleased and surprised to see all the teams listed. We did not expect much.
During this last week before the start of the competition, we have 2 big jobs to do:
The update Zkup v3.18 which may disturb the site
There is a risk that the site is down or bugs
The draw for creat groups:
We decided to create 4 groups (3 groups of 5 and a group of 4). We must therefore shift the schedule, to play 5 weeks of groupstage instead of 3.
A draw will be performed and filmed for determining the distribution of teams in groups.
We should give you all the info during the weekend.

Map builder (28/08/2010)
Now we have selected all the maps for the Nations Dirt Cup 2010!
First of all, we like to say "Big thanks" to everone that has contributed to this competition with a map. All the maps we have received (around 70) have been played very thoroughly by at least 4 people in the admin crew, grading every map according to 4 different cathegories: Flow, Bugs, Finnishing (atmosphere), Personality.
And without exception, the average quality of the maps has been great. Thank you all, for giving us such great maps to work with
We have rejected some maps because of their simplicity, complexity or length, and some because of their Time Attack nature. Finally we could select the top 17 tracks that will make NDC 2010!
So it is time for us to unveil the list of selected mappers, whos tracks will be published soon by NDC. We have some very famous and some less famous mappers, and we are sure that the future will bring many more great tracks from all of them.
Here is the list of selected mappers:
- Pantseri
- Go@
- Nix-Boy
- Sun²
- Eloop
- Juan Roman
- Chris.fr
- Mass
- Denebstar
- Master
- Nicomonster
- Kybermato
If you are not part of this list, thank you for your contribution, you can now choose where you want to publish your map, on TMX, online servers or other places.
We say a big thanks to Denebstar who managed this map selection so majestic, and thanks to Go@ for helping us out too.
New rules (22/08/2010)
We have decided to increase the number of tracks used per match during the playoff stage.
For all stages of the playoff (quarter finals, semi finals and finals) we will use a separate track-pack with 4 regular tracks + a "Sudden Death" track (previously it was 3).
The "Sudden Death" track is ONLY to avoid a playoff match ending in a draw.
If the score in a playoff match is equal after the 4 regular tracks have been played, the "Sudden Death" track is played and decides the winner.
This "Sudden Death" track will be the same track during all stages of the competition.
All group stage matches will be played using 1 track-pack with 4 tracks (same as before).
To download track-packs, use the Download menu when Nations Dirt Cup 2010 has started.
To read the new rules, please go to: http://www.nationsdirtcup.com/accueil/reglement.html.
The modifications are in Chapter 3: "Match information" and Chapter 6: "Tracks".
Please use the forum for any comment or question regarding this change.
Extended deadline + Germany (22/08/2010)
We have decided to extend the deadline to Tuesday, August 31, 2010.
Many teams are registered and have already planned some friendly fights.
But with the holidays going on, and problems of re-organization, some teams will not be ready before August 15.
I can not validate your teams for a few days since I am also on vacation from August 8 to August 19.
I can still follow you with my mobile GSM.
Status of the German team
This week, Zic, the captain of the German team dismissed the challenge of managing the German team.
There is at the moment no German team for NDC. This is unfortunate since Germany was one of the main contenders to win NDC.
If you know someone to replace Zic and relaunch the German team, please make your voice heard in the forum!
Teams ready to fight (22/08/2010)
Teams ready to fight:
All their players are validated, they have more than 5 players and their captains have registered their team to the competition to show they are ready.
We expect more teams to register soon, and we must have at least 12 teams to start the tournament.
To register your team, use this link : Team registration
And do not forget, if you see your captain tell him to visit this website to check for updates from time to time.
Enjoy :)
Time to register (16/07/2010)
It is time to open the registration for teams to the Nations Dirt Cup 2010 competition!
Previously all teams have registered at this site, which is excellent.
But now each team must register to the actual Nations Dirt Cup 2010 competition.
List of teams registred
A team captain can register his team to the Nations Dirt Cup 2010 competition once the team has a minimum of 5 players, and all players have provided their TM login on their player profile (a player is marked in red on the team page if TM-login is provided).
Teams that can register at this moment are : Norway, South Africa, Netherlands, Croatia, Poland, Finland and Belgium.
To register your team
The deadline for registration is August 15, 2010.
For any question or comment, please use the forum.
Localization nations (28/06/2010)
To illustrate the diversity of countries and players participating in the Nations Cup Dirt, here is a picture showing the locations of the country.
For the moment we have 31 teams registered and I think some additional should arrive shortly. Now we expect that the teams are full to begin to validate registrations.

Country groupings (16/07/2010)
We decided with the admins to allow a combination of several countries to create one team. This for several reasons and under certain constraints.
Why ?
Some countries are geographically small, others have very few Trackmania Dirt players. Theese two factors make it difficult for some countries to create a complete team with a sufficient level to participate.
It is preferable for all involved in NDC to see teams of similar ability compete. If the driving skills between the teams are more equal, players take more pleasure in playing. We will then have tight, exciting matches.
Restriction :
Before the creation of any combined team, you must wait for our validation. No combined team will be accepted without our consent. You can apply in the forum, under "Teams Presentation".
A combined team must exist of countries with similar geographic location.
NDC reserves the right to deny a combined team if we believe a country is sufficiently represented in TM Dirt to create its own team.
Countries grouped at the moment
- Maghreb United : combining 3 countries : Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. These 3 countries have a low representation in TM Dirt and are geographically closely connected. They also have a history of being combined together as the countries of North Africa bordering the mediterranean sea, see more info here.
- Australia & New Zeland : combining 2 countries: Australia and New Zealand. These 2 countries are well represented in rugby, but much less in TM Dirt :)
These combinations are possible for the first edition. We reserve the right to remove this rule for the next version of NDC.
Anyway, enjoy it this year and have fun :)
New countries (16/07/2010)
We are happy to see new countries, some were expected like Spain and Russia who holds an important rank in the Dirt Community.
But many are more unexpected, like Bosnia & Herzegovina and Czech Republic. We wish them all good luck in the competition.
I especially want to mention the coming of Japan in NDC. And yes it is a surprise, I confess that I showed them the way, but I know they will come with a team who can put up a good fight. We all know how the Japanese are able to invest in a game.
In a preview, we announce the arrival of Hungary in few days, they are preparing their qualifications right now.
This is just a quick overview of new countries ready to fight at the Nations Cup Dirt. We are always happy to see a new country register, and we do not hide that we are sometimes surprised by the number of registrations for this first edition. Keep it up.
From now we will give you regular news updates to share information about how NDC progresses.
Rules Update (16/07/2010)
We decided to modify the rules, because there were some bugs in the first version, and we wanted to change some important points, here are the main changes:
- 1 - Changed the number of players per match, now it is 4 vs 4. We will not use more players for the first edition of NDC. Maybe for later versions of NDC, 5 vs 5.
- 2 - Changed the number of tracks played in a group stage match, now it is 4 tracks played in a group stage match. For a play-off match we use 3 tracks.
- 3 - Changed the distribution of league points for the group stage, now it is 2 points for a victory, 1 point for a draw and 0 point for a loss.
- 4 - An NDC admin will create an official match thread in the forum for each match. This thread shall contain all discussions regarding match date and time, player line-up, result screenshots etc.
- 5 - TM-login is mandatory for each player who want play NDC. All players must provide this in their user profile.
etc...
